About Us

A heritage rooted in Türkiye. A future built across borders.

WAYTU (World Association of Young Trade Unionists) is an international non-governmental and solidarity movement that blends a deeply rooted labor heritage with a universal and modern future. The foundations of this historic alliance were laid under the visionary leadership of Genç Sağlık Sendikası and the Confederation of Public Servants (DMK), which have broken new ground in the Republic of Türkiye with an independent and next-generation approach to trade unionism. This torch of independent labor ignited in Türkiye has crossed borders through our unwavering faith in global labor solidarity.

Setting out on this journey, our first strategic destination was our brotherly country Azerbaijan, with whom we share a common history and destiny. The engagements, institutional collaborations, and unshakable bonds of brotherhood established in Baku sowed the first powerful seeds of this global alliance into the fertile ground. This collective will that flourished in Azerbaijan transformed our objective of uniting young public servants under a universal roof from an ideal into a tangible reality.

Strengthened by this immense power and synergy gathered in Azerbaijan, we carried our movement to the heart of the Eurasian geography. Ultimately, in Astana — the historic and modern capital of the region's shining star, Kazakhstan — we proudly declared the official establishment of WAYTU to the entire world, during the international assembly held with the participation of young trade union leaders. Astana is not merely the place where our Union was proclaimed; it represents a historic milestone marking the beginning of a new era for young public servants in their struggle for labor rights, in next-generation digitalized public administration, and within the global trade union movement.

Today, WAYTU has taken the field as the powerful global voice of young public laborers worldwide. Integrating the institutional experience of Genç Sağlık Sendikası and the Confederation of Public Servants (DMK) with the innovative energy of youth, our union continues its march with determination, drawing holy inspiration from Astana to champion labor rights in the age of artificial intelligence, elevate the professional dignity of young bureaucrats, and serve as a playmaker on the international stage.
